The Hungarian medical mission has started in the recent days in Malawi. The Food Angels Hungary joined them with their own Malawi mission as the “Malawi Angels”.
“The Malawi Angels and I visited a local man, called Yohanne who takes care of streetkids from Blantyre. There are 25-30 children during the day and 4 of them spend the nights here too. Yohanne gives them clothes and pays everything they need for school. The kids call him dad. His goal to bring in as many kids as he can from the streets so they can have an opportunity to create a better future for themselves.
It’s a growing problem in Malawi that many children live on the streets and get into gangs.
Sometimes the police take them in for days, but there is no specific government program to deal with them.
During the visit, Hlatky-Schlichter Hubert, founder of Food Angels Hungary, offered their help in renovating the house, as you can see on the pictures.” - Csaba
