In 2019, the INDA (Interprofessional Dementia Program) project has started. It is organized by the Hungarian Catholic Charity Service. Our association is involved in the research series of the two-year program.
The aim of the project is to raise awareness of dementia through a well-structured communication activity and to implement professional development adaptations that enable high-quality care for elderly people with dementia. It also aims to explore the situation of caregiving families in a differentiated manner according to the individual municipalities and to develop methods that may help in the future.
The project not only provides information and support to family members, but also aims to develop an interprofessional dementia program. Training, research and information campaigns are needed to sensitize society, eliminate taboos and exclusion related to dementia, and gain broad political support by closing the project. For every demented person is preceded by a valuable, lived life. Human dignity, human rights must be guaranteed at the end of their lives, too. Not least to facilitate the lives of caring family members and to ensure the social recognition of their professionals.
