David Attenborough's Message

English naturalist and documentary filmmaker David Attenborough probably needs no introduction. His latest documentary, "A Life On Our Planet," will be released this spring. In the film, he outlines the issues of climate change and explores possible solutions, among other things.

In his most recent interview with the BBC, he had this to say:

"Year after year, we keep putting things off. We set goals and say, 'If we do this in the next 20 years, or if we do that...' The moment of crisis has arrived. We can't delay any longer. Right now, the southeast of Australia is on fire. Why? Because the temperature of the Earth is rising. This is a major international disaster. To say this has nothing to do with climate is obviously nonsense. We must realize this is not a game.

This isn't just a pleasant little debate and discussion followed by compromise. This is an urgent problem that must be solved. And the fact is, we know how to solve it. It's completely contradictory. We are unwilling to take the steps we know we need to take. And these steps will only become harder year after year."
