Have You Ever Seen a Tree Like This?

Isn't it fascinating? The tree in the picture is called Jabuticaba (or Zsabotikába in Hungarian). What makes it so special is that its fruit grows directly on the trunk. When it ripens, it turns a deep black color. The fruit is mostly eaten raw, though many people say it makes an excellent jam, and of course, wine too. The tree is native to Brazil, but it's also found in several African countries, including Zambia.

While I was taking a photo of the tree, a local guy approached me and sat down to chat about the plant once he noticed my curiosity.

From my new friend, I learned that the fruit most resembles grapes—not only in shape but also in taste. What was most interesting to me, though, is that this tree only grows where the soil contains water within a 20-meter radius. So, it's not just a delicious fruit or a unique tree, but also a natural guide. The tree's fruit fully ripens by early July.

Luckily, we'll still be here until then. I'm definitely not going to miss it!
