Hungarian Volunteer Doctors Begin Their Work in Ethiopia
Our volunteer doctors have begun their work in Ethiopia! Last weekend, the Hungarian volunteer doctors arrived in Ethiopia. The participants of the mission are: Dr. Máté Bata, Dr. Kinga Jakab-Péter, Dr. Edina Pálinkás, Dr. Gábor Nagy, and Dr. Dávid Nagy.
The mission is being coordinated locally by Csaba Szeremley, a member of the Planetrise Association. Dr. Marianna Kármán, the lead researcher at the Institute of African Studies, Doctoral School of Safety Sciences at Óbuda University, is conducting interviews with Ethiopian humanitarian, religious, and cultural organizations.
The team arrived early on Sunday morning in Addis Ababa, where they settled into the Mazeki Hotel. On Monday morning, work began: the otolaryngologists at St. Paul's Hospital Millennium Medical College, and the neurosurgeons at AaBET (Addis Ababa Burn Emergency and Trauma Hospital). Over the past two days, the doctors have performed five successful surgeries and donated medical equipment worth 2 million forints.
