Ilona Asztalos: My six-week Mission in Malawi Has Come to an End

12/10/2017

I arrived home from Malawi last week. However, the last few days were anything but boring. Quite the opposite! Together with my eleven photography students, we took countless photos both in the villages and at the school. Among the hundreds of pictures, some truly remarkable ones were taken, from which I selected 28—2 or 3 photos from each student. We are organizing an exhibition of these photos, both in Malawi and at home.

On my last day at the school, during the morning gathering, I was bid farewell, and Mr. Luc and one of my students, Collinz, presented some of the photos to the children, which everyone admired in awe. During my mission, I gained immense experiences, which I will likely never forget.

However, this is not the end of our program in Malawi this year. This weekend, our member, Csaba Szeremley, will travel to Malawi with the 17th medical mission of the Hungarian Africa Society. We will report in detail on the event later.
