Jane Goodall: There is Hope for the Future

"I have hope for the future: young people who understand the problems and have the strength to change the world." – Jane Goodall

April 22nd marks Earth Day, and on this occasion, our association participated in the "Respect and Protect the Earth!" event organized by the Van Esély! Public Benefit Association in Kisvárda.

The conservation program was specifically designed for the students of Kazinczy Ferenc Primary School in Szabolcsveresmart. During this meaningful day, our association showed a film about the wildlife of Africa, followed by a travelogue presentation about our recent trip to Uganda, which was organized in collaboration with the Jane Goodall Institute.

After the film screening, there was an informal discussion, and Sándor Agárdy, a retired teacher, delivered a fascinating lecture on the wildlife of the Rétköz region. Following the presentations, a conservation-themed quiz took place, and the upper-grade students of the primary school performed exceptionally well.

We would like to congratulate them once again! And, as the saying goes, "The best time to plant a tree was 20 years ago. The second-best time is now." In honor of Earth Day, a tree planting ceremony was held. During the event, our association also organized an exhibition titled "Everyday Life in Africa". The exhibition is open at the Szabolcsveresmart Community Center until April 30th.

Let's protect the Earth together, as it will be needed for a long time to come!
