Our Tree-Planting Project in Malawi Continues

25/05/2017

Last year, our association planted 400 saplings in cooperation with the students of the Jacaranda School. Today, we expanded the project with an additional 200 trees, most of which will be planted by the children as part of their agriculture and environmental science classes.

However, we also received help with planting the first few trees — from the doctors of the Hungarian Africa Society's XV. medical mission. Our association was represented by one of our members, Csaba Szeremley, who on this occasion also served as the coordinator of the specialised ENT medical mission.

The final day in the operating theatre began early for our doctors. By 7:30 in the morning, they were already at Jacaranda School. As part of our tree-planting programme, each of them planted a native tree species at different spots around the schoolyard.

The Jacaranda trees planted near the school entrance last September are also growing beautifully and becoming stronger.
