Péter Juhász: Visit to CICD
The president of our Association, Gergő Péter Juhász, paid a visit to the College for International Co-operation and Development (CICD) in the United Kingdom, where he held discussions with Marie Forell, head of the promotion office, on how to further strengthen the collaboration between our organisations.
We expressed our intention to deepen the ties between our two organisations and, in cooperation with other local and international partners, to launch a training programme involving as many participants as possible – people who are eager to contribute to solving global challenges.
We plan to involve volunteers in our programmes who, following the training, will engage in development work either in Africa, Asia, Latin America – that is, in developing regions – or even in their own home countries. Volunteering as a form of education is, in itself, a highly valuable experience for participants, and the work they do also contributes to the development of the regions in which they serve.
More information about the school can be found under the "Volunteering" section.
Péter also met with the CICD's gardener, who has launched a new initiative focusing on the production of organic goods. An agreement was reached between CICD and our Association to expand their food crop and livestock programmes through a joint project. We aim to produce organic products that not only supply the institutions with kitchen essentials but also serve as a source of income.
This is a highly beneficial programme, as it not only brings eco-products to market – contributing to environmental and health protection – but also uses the income generated to sponsor the travel and accommodation of volunteers, who in turn support local communities.
